Day 1 Arrival Day in Rio de Janeiro
We recommend that you arrive in the morning. The day is yours to explore Rio. Go for a walk on the famous Copacabana promenade to get a glimpse of the Marvellous City! Go to the Botanical Gardens, cycle around Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas or go hang-gliding from Pedra Bonita (600m high) for a breathtaking view!
Day 2 Rio de Janeiro
Go to Ipanema Beach in the morning or you may want to join one of the most valuable tours in Rio, the Favela Tour. A big percentage of the population of Rio live in favelas and form what can be regarded as separate cities. In the favelas, it is possible to find all sorts of facilities such as stores, gyms, hairdressing salons, bars and clubs. The favela tour puts you in close contact with this other side of Rio and shows you the day-to-day lives of the people that live there. By doing the Favela Tour in Rocinha, one of the biggest slums in the world, you will have a close view and understanding of this fascinating environment and will be directly helping its residents besides absorbing a bit of their culture.
You have an included City Tour in the afternoon that will take you to the main highlights of Rio such as Christ the Redeemer, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Lapa and other places of interest and finish with a beautiful view from the Sugar Loaf Mountain.
Day 3 Departure Day
If you happen to be there on a Sunday, go to Praça General Osório in Ipanema to enjoy the hippie market and dancing to the beats of Funk music – the popular local music from the outskirts of Rio. Also, don’t miss the chance to join the football addicts cheering for their teams and be amazed by the atmosphere in the Olympic stadium.

INDEPENDENT TOURS run all year round and are guaranteed to depart* with a minimum of 1 traveller. You choose a tour or destination, the best date to start and travel independently, without the presence of a Tour Leader. All you'll have to do is simply arrive and enjoy your stay in Brazil. We'll take care of the organizational part for you (accommodation, transportation and activities included as specified in the tour description).
Independent Tours are ideal for single travellers, couples, honeymooners, and friends that travel in small groups (up to 4 people).
They are also a great alternative for those of you who are not able to join a Group Tour departure because the dates don't match with your vacation time or for those of you that wish to extend your holiday in Brazil with a few more destinations.
The itinerary presented is a guideline. Things may change with little or no notice due to local circumstances such as weather conditions, difficult access and other unpredictable or unforeseeable circumstances, events or any factor that might put the safety or well-being of our clients at risk.
