Testimonials & Reviews - What people are saying about LUSH Pathways?
My most vivid memory of Salvador was the night before the arranged carnival events. As the sun was going down, we could hear from our lovely pousada the drums in the distance. A group of us headed towards the old town to look for the Olodum drummers leading rows of dancers through the cobbled streets. Some seemed to know what there were doing, others not. So, we tagged along at the back, not worrying about the steps, just moving with the music. Everyone there was enjoying the moment. The atmosphere was magic, pure magic!

Renata was great - very knowledged and offered great tips on traveling to each destination. She was very well organized and very experienced. I would HIGHLY recommend LUSH Pathways to others travelling to Brazil. The tour was well organized, with a fantastic tour leader who offered knowledge, advice, and facilitated a wonderful group environment. The balance between cities and time spent in natural settings was perfect.

What to expect when you travel with us
Our tours include all terrestrial travel - accommodation, transportation and the must-see highlights. You are responsible for all flights (international and domestic) to/from the start/end of the tour. You choose and buy travel insurance (mandatory) for your trip from your preferred insurance company.

Brazilian breakfast included in our travels - a variety of fresh fruits and juices, coffee, french rolls, cakes, and the locals' specialities!During your tour, you will stay in comfortable, locally-owned guesthouses (pousadas) or small hotels. In remote areas, you will stay in simple guesthouses that characterise the area. Accommodation is in a Twin or Double room on a shared room basis with a private en-suite bathroom. In some of the locations you may stay for a few nights in rooms for 3 to 4 people or in the more remote areas, in communal rooms. A Brazilian breakfast is included every day.

We use public transportation whenever is possible, which is part of the essence of our tours. We find that how you get there significantly influences the tone of your journey and local transportation allows face-to-face interaction with the Brazilian culture. Transportation can be a mix of local public buses, collective vans, taxis, boats, flights on occasion and shared or private transportation – it will all depend on the location.

The must-see highlights are included. This way you avoid carrying lots of extra spending money on you. On the other hand, we understand that everyone has different interests, so there is also plenty of free-time in our tours for you to explore according to your individual taste and budget. You also have the freedom to decide on a wide variety of optional activities available during your journey.

If you are doing a Group Tour or are going on a Special Departure, Final Payment will be collected locally by the Tour Leader on the first day of your tour. The Final Payment is a convenient and easy way for us to get cash to the Tour Leader to pay for some of the expenses during the tour. It is a nominal proportion of the funds that are required to run the tour.

Our tours appeal to a wide range of travellers and are designed to attract people whom share an adventurous spirit and a desire to get close to the Brazilian culture. Our tours run in English and Spanish with travellers of all nationalities and are ideal for friends, couples, honeymooners or for those of you who are travelling alone. Our travellers are generally aged between 20 to 60 years old although our tours can be made up of people of all ages. The physical demands of most of our tours are considered to be easy to moderate, with some level of adventure.

Our tours are designed to complement each other, so you can easily extend your holiday in Brazil. We also organize arrival transfers and offer pre/post-trip accommodation in most of the locations where your tour starts and finishes.

Our Independent Tours, Volunteer Programs and Custom Trips are guaranteed to depart* with a minimum of 1 traveller. For Group Tours and Special Departures we guarantee departure* once there are 4 travellers, up to a maximum of 10 travellers. In the case of a Group or Special Departure not confirming, you are still able to come to Brazil and enjoy a tour with us by easily swapping** to a very similar Independent Tour, choosing any other available tour or even tailor making your holiday.

Note that for all tours/programs, “Force Majeure” applies, as explained in our Booking Conditions.
**Because our tours have different prices, you might be due a refund or have to pay the difference in price depending on the new tour chosen.

How we travel
Preguicas River on the way to Cabure - Kids bathing are a commom scene in some parts of the Brazilian NortheastOur aim is to make you live your tour! We want to make your journey a life experience! Something genuine and enjoyable that you will never forget and hopefully you will take something positive from it.

You will be exposed to the day-to-day lives of the people we meet, experiencing the reality of the places we visit. We don’t make anything up! On many occasions on your journey you will have the chance to interact directly with the local people and get a little taste of what being a Brazilian and living in Brazil is like. You will take the same transportation that we do, eat the same food, listen and dance to the same music, participate in the same events and get to see the good and bad parts of our loved country.

We try to make a positive impact on the people and places that we visit. Our visits help sustain many of the places that we pass through and not only that, the people that live there learn as much about us as we do about them. Helping the economy of small communities in the Amazon in Brazil by buying local productsWe believe that practicing responsible tourism shows respect and appreciation for the Earth and ourselves.

It is important to understand that travelling in a developing country requires that you expect the unexpected. Delays or other issues can occur - hopefully they won’t but if they do, that is the nature of an authentic travel experience in Brazil.

We want to warn you: this way of travelling can become an addictive passion! We are positive that you will love it! All we expect from you is your good mood, peace of mind and flexibility. Leave the rest to us!
